Frequently asked questions about the site

Who writes this site?

One person, named with an address on the contact page. The figures come from federal agencies and the writing around them is done here, model by model, from public research — it is not mass-generated text published without review.

Why do some pages have far less text?

Because there is little public material about that model. We prefer a short, true page to a long, padded one. When there is neither official data nor material to write from, the page stays online but is not indexed by Google.

Where do the photos come from?

Wikimedia Commons, under a free licence, with the author and licence printed beneath each photo. We download them and serve them from our own server. No photo appears on two pages, and a model with no freely licensed photo simply has none.

Can I trust these figures when buying a car?

Use them to compare and to know where to check. The decision needs to go through the official link on the page, because the source dataset may have been updated after our collection and may not cover the exact trim you are looking at.

How is the site paid for?

Advertising. It has no influence on which models get a page or on what the text says, and no manufacturer pays for prominence. We take no paid links and no sponsored posts.

I found a mistake. What do I do?

Write to us through the contact page saying the page and the figure. Send the link to the official source with the right value and the correction ships the same day.
