What is the Kia Sportage?

The Kia Sportage is a vehicle sold under the Kia brand. This page pulls together real, government-sourced US data about this specific model: recall campaigns from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), fuel economy and engine specs from the EPA's fueleconomy.gov, and crash-test ratings from NHTSA's own safety program.

Does the Kia Sportage have any open recalls?

NHTSA's recall database lists 10 recall campaigns for the Kia Sportage, between model years 2022 and 2026. The most recent one (NHTSA campaign 26V046000, received January 27, 2026) involves "ELECTRICAL SYSTEM: INSTRUMENT CLUSTER/PANEL". These are the manufacturer's own recall filings with the federal government - not a summary we wrote, the actual campaign numbers and descriptions.

What's the real fuel economy of the Kia Sportage?

According to fueleconomy.gov (EPA/DOE), the 2026 Sportage AWD is rated at 24 city / 30 highway / 26 combined MPG. It runs a 2.5L, 4-cylinder engine with all-wheel drive, on regular. Its official tailpipe CO2 rating is 339.0 grams per mile.

How does the Kia Sportage score on US crash tests?

NHTSA's 5-Star Safety Ratings program tested the 2026 KIA SPORTAGE SUV N/A AWD (model year 2026): 5-star overall, 5-star frontal crash, 5-star side crash, 4-star rollover. Electronic stability control is listed as "Standard". Forward collision warning is listed as "Standard".

Como ler este número

How to read these numbers

Every figure on this page - recall campaign numbers, MPG, crash-test stars - comes straight from a US federal agency's own public API (NHTSA or the EPA). We never calculate, round, or estimate one ourselves.

De onde vem o dado

Where this data comes from

Recalls: NHTSA's recallsByVehicle API. Fuel economy and specs: the EPA/DOE's fueleconomy.gov. Safety ratings: NHTSA's 5-Star Safety Ratings program. All three are free, public, no-key APIs operated by the US government.

Cuidado

What this page does NOT say

A missing recall, MPG figure or safety rating doesn't mean the vehicle is unsafe or inefficient - it means that specific federal dataset doesn't have a matching entry for this model and the years we checked. We show that plainly instead of filling it with a guessed number.
